Municipalities depend more on technology (Municipal IT) today than ever. With the need for wide scale communication, internal collaboration, record keeping, compliancy across all departments, as well as utilizing the proper protection from outside threats, CCS has expertise and knowledge to help bring it all together.
The Borough of Allendale, NJ approached CCS with a request for secure communications amongst all borough staff, employees, and personnel. Additionally, it was requested that the town remain compliant with the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), which requires that records custodians respond to and fulfill OPRA records requests in accordance with the law.
Solution – To meet these strict demands CCS implemented an onsite Microsoft Exchange Server with email distribution groups and a shared calendar for all employees to use for collaboration and communication efforts. In addition, we implemented offsite mail filtering, capturing 99.9% of infected email and spam, protecting mail during server downtime, and an email archiving solution so incoming and outgoing email will be recorded in a tamper proof environment for a period of 7 years. Finally, a new website was implemented in order to give the town the capability of sharing vital knowledge, with the residents of the borough, across the internet. CCS is now in the process of outfitting the Allendale, NJ Department of Public Works (DPW) with new hardware which will allow employees the capability to keep up with the latest mapping and graphic software requirements necessary for keeping the town’s systems operational.
